"Clothes make the man. Naked people have little or no influence on society" - Mark Twain
The weather is just perfect for rummaging our store room where old and new clothes party! :) The room is also home to bags, garments, and newly washed clothes. Sometimes, when things get rowdy the room is converted as a guest room and it's also where my Mama does the "ironing". She's "iron woman," btw. (Yeah. I'm corny like that! tse!)
While I don't have any intention or whatsoever in making this blog a "fashion-ish" type of thing, I just cannot help myself but make an entry about the clothes I've found. I just love VINTAGE. I'm a sucker for old clothes! Fashion come and goes but they do make a comeback, that's why never throw away those gorgeous pieces.
I remember a pic I posted on my FB account where I wore my Mama's black blazer with white polka dots. Here..

I still need to do some refurbishing on the fit, though.

Anyhow, here's what I found:
Item Number 1
It's a skort (a combi of skirt and short). Mama said it was "uso" during her days. The item was bought by Papa from Cebu. (Bilib ko sa taste ni Papa! hehe) I see Palazzo pants worn by ladies these days. I think this ones closer to that. The great thing about this is that I don't need to modify it. It perfectly fits me well. And it's high waist too! (see detail picture) Perfect to hide the blabs at the sides. lol
Item number 2
It never dawned to me that my Mom has a lot of polka dotted stuffs going on. :) This ones a polka dotted Sailor top. It's waaaay too huge for me so this needs a trip to the sewing shop. I'm planning to make this as a blazer coupled with a tee and a white short. Perfect for casual sunny days!
Item number 3
Now this one's mine when I was 10 or 12 years old. I remember the local store where we bought the top. This came with a black lace top too but I can no longer find it. :( This still fits me pero too short na. Almost close to my midrib which is not good. (believe me! haha) I need to think how I can revamp this.
So there you go, the latest addition to my vintage collection. I'll be posting some pictures soon when I wear them. As I've said I don't have any plans of turning this site into a fashion blog because I'm not really comfortable doing that. I'm having goosies as I type these down btw. lol
So, let me end this entry with a thought:
Looking good does not have to be expensive. In fact, it's the cheapest thing in the world! All you need is a daily dose of confidence and a capsule of creativity and you're off! =)
P.S. If you happen to love vintage clothes as well. You can pay these shops a visit.
and
They have really great pieces of vintage clothes. Ciao bella!
